Hey there,

it's a little difficult to post in a forum whose language you don't understand, but anyway, I made it this far. :)

I can run Berserker v1.10 without any problems - thanks to Bers at this point! :)
To make the look of the game even more appealing, I downloaded and installed these high resolution packages:
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/hi-res/B@Q2/overrides.pk2
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/hi-res/B@Q2/textures.pk2
They look awesome! No problems with the graphics, but instead a sound problem occurred: The sound of the footsteps is partially broken! Just after I start a new game, not the normal sound is used for the footsteps, but a louder, annoying one! It is the sound metalgrate.wav in _Pak0.pk2\sound\steps. It's only on the type of ground which is at the beginning of Quake 2. If the ground changes, the footsteps change back to normal. I don't understand this at all because overrides.pk2 and textures.pk2 contain nothing but images! No sounds!

But it gets even more weird: I deleted the complete "steps" directory from _Pak0.pk2, but the steps in the game were unchanged!! Where does Q2 get the sound from??

This can't be a hardware issue so I don't think it's necessary to post my hardware configuration - I reproduced this problem on a second computer!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sheriff Hobbes

I didn't find any sound references in the .fx files. However, I solved the problem in another way: I'm using these packages now:
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/specific/bers_uhr/zTextures1.pk2
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/specific/bers_uhr/zTextures2.pk2
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/specific/bers_uhr/correct_upd_zTextures_06-09-2008.zip

Unfortunately, I don't get this cool looking shotgun with it:

Does anybody know in which package I can get this weapon?

I removed all comercial models some time ago. Personally, I prefer the traditional looking weapons in Quake 2.
