Glad to have you onboard Alien_911 and please, do not feel rushed. Take care of your family and work first and then, when you really have some spare time, try to do something.
I’m quite sure even with no experience in designing art concepts, that the best things come up when done with pleasure and fun.

From my part, I could promise that I will deliver one weapon per month, but realistically it is maybe too much to promise. A more grounded promise for sure is that in the next 12 months
I will finish at least 6 weapons and maybe, the final number could grow upwards in the direction of all 11.

Cheers!
Nice to see you Berserker and thanks for the compliment!

I don’t want to disturb you with my problems “but” I really would like to ask if you can spare some time and look if it is possible to implement in the gun sights lens,
the effect as in the Borderlands 2 game (lens reflection).

Cheers!
To be exactly sure of what were talking about here, I apologize for my previews post as of today when reading it it’s a pure mess, I’m posting an image from Borderlands of a gun with a sight.

Hope that this clear out of what I’m asking here. Like I stated before I don’t know nothing about programming so I’m just fantasizing of how great it will be if weapon sights can simulate
some kind of see through effect or at minimum ambient reflection ( sure I’m expecting something great from you here ;) ).

Cheers!

Hi guys

After merely 100 animation attempts, I’m back. Saying 100 is not an exaggeration, I have tried every pose and move possible.
But after a “few” thoughts, I came to a conclusion that less is better, at least here.
I spent some time on analyzing the previews animation which was more complicated to make than the new one,
but I think that after a while it became annoying and repetitive to see the exact same move in rotation on and on ( swimming, strafing, running, etc.).
So, I decided to eliminate even the lowering hand from the original animation ( which I really hate ) and stick with the basic moves here.

About the quality of the hand model I have to say, that even this time I didn’t achieve what I was planning for.
Sure the hands are now looking way better without vertex stretching and skin deformation etc.
But for making them even better I have to learn Z brush and some human anatomy, which I’m planning to do this October.

So please download and try the new model and post some comments of course…

http://www.freefilehosting.net/quake2machinegun9813

And for Berserker

As usual I have special requests for you Berserker ;D. The first one is if you can look into the static noise effect which you have made for the first model.
I tried to use the file with this model, but it doesn’t work correctly. Now it covers the entire gun, so I’m asking you when you will have some spare time to solve the issue.

The second request is the same that I have already asked you some days ago and it overcomes the first one. It was about making a better gun sight with some nice effects.
Don’t know if you had some time to think about it, but if you will try the new model you’ll see that the sight misses you very much ;D.

Cheers!

Berserker I really hoped that you eventually decided to do it. I know that it will be an incredible amount of programming work for you,
but at the same time I can’t wait to have such an effect of modern games in bers@q2.

Guys can you imagine that if you are looking to the in game photo in the post above, that on the sight glass will see the building standing in front of the player!
Thanks Berserkers, thanks again for your effort!

Hope that Alien_911 will acknowledge the new feature as he can design some weapons to use it.
By the way Alien_911 hope that you’re doing fine. If you have some time to test the new model stop by and make some comments.

Oh, and Berserker take as many time as you need, don’t feel as anybody is rushing you ;D. We will wait and cheer for you!

P.S.
And by the way, I need to thank you again for the relighting Quake 2 project. I really enjoyed testing the new weapon in such a wonderful environment.
Damn it, two days that I didn’t had the time to look in to the forum and I’m already late to the party ;D!

As I expected with just a little of Berserker magic, my model gets to a total new dimension. It’s incredible how our brain perceives this, as playing the game now gets more immersive.
I just can’t imagine how far this would go if it was possible to get a real see through!

And again a big THX to you Berserker
